KROSER Carry-On Luggage Review: High-Value Features, Affordable Price Tag

The KROSER 20 Inch Expandable Hardside Spinner is one of those bags that you see pop up all the time when searching for a dependable, fashionable, and functional budget-friendly carry-on. After trying it out on a couple of domestic flights (and searching through hundreds of user reviews), I can confidently say—with complete honesty—this compact suitcase delivers a lot more than you’d expect for the price.

It’s not perfect (none are at this price point), but for under $100, the KROSER 20-Inch Hardside Spinner is one of the best travel companions you can buy today if you’re a light-to-moderate traveler.

Build & Materials: Solid and Durable Enough for Frequent Flyers

The materials KROSER used for this case were nothing short of impressive for the price.

  • 100% PC (polycarbonate) hard shell exterior
  • Explosion-proof double zipper with reverse coil
  • Soft, wear-resistant spinner wheels
  • TSA-approved combination lock
  • Dual adjustable multi-layer telescopic handle
  • Soft inner lining, ideal for close-fitting clothes

After using this hardshell bag on a few trips, first impressions are good. KROSER used high-density polycarbonate, which means the exterior felt very rigid and scratch-resistant after taking a few flights.

The shell was durable enough to handle overhead bins, trolleys, and the general wear-and-tear at busy airports and large venues. It’s not quite as thick as some of the $500+ Samsonite or TUMI hardshells, but I was actually surprised by how well this material held up.

Weight: At 7 pounds when empty, it’s not quite “ultralight” by any stretch, but in the right hands and within carry-on size limits, it’s more than portable.

The Wheels: Probably the best feature of the entire bag, in my opinion. The wheels felt surprisingly high quality (budget luggage wheels are notorious for feeling like garbage, but these were quite nice) and rolled over a wide variety of terrain, including cobblestones and carpeted airport terminal floors, with ease.

Interior & Packing: Efficient Use of Space and Smart Features

The KROSER carry-on’s interior layout and packing space can be summed up in a few words: efficient.

  • Main compartment with compression cross-straps for flexibility
  • U-zip privacy divider with waterproof compartment
  • Zippered sections for easy organization of smaller items
  • It was a breeze to pack this bag after reading through KROSER’s size guide.

For 5 days of travel, I was able to easily pack:

  • 3 pairs of jeans
  • 5 shirts
  • 2 sweaters
  • 1 pair of sneakers
  • Toiletries, chargers, and other accessories

The waterproof pocket also came in quite handy for this and would be great for shower shoes, toiletries, or even keeping wet swimsuits separate. In addition, I appreciated that the interior lining was soft and felt of higher quality compared to many other “plasticky” budget competitors.

What KROSER got right:

  • Roomy main compartment
  • Expansion zipper to help you squeeze in a little more
  • Well-designed divider and waterproof compartment

Areas for improvement:

  • Interior compression straps could use a bit more durability
  • No external pocket (common for hard-shells, but still worth noting)

Rolling & Handling: Smooth Sailing

Hands down the best feature of this entire suitcase—KROSER uses double spinner wheels, not single.

This means the bag rolls smoothly in all directions with great stability—even when the case is packed tightly.

Real-world testing confirmed these initial impressions.

Pros:

  • Smoothly rolls over airport tiles, carpeted hotel floors, and even some short brick sidewalks
  • Telescopic handle locked securely at several different heights
  • Handles built into the top and sides made lifting this into the overhead bins a breeze
  • The handle also felt durable but slightly thinner than some premium competitors. There were no jams or wobbles, but this probably isn’t made to take the constant beating that something like a real Samsonite would.

User Reviews: This is where opinions can get a little mixed and skewed.

Positive Experiences:

  • “Rolls like a dream even when fully loaded.”
  • “Lots of room and the divider sections make packing easy.”
  • “Strong, scratch-resistant shell with beautiful color options like steel grey and green.”
  • “Better than my old Samsonite at half the price.”

Common Complaints:

  • “Lock failed during my trip—could barely open it.”
  • “Handle broke after a few months of use.”
  • “Waterproofing wasn’t great—my stuff got soaked during heavy rain.”

For normal usage, the KROSER 20-Inch Hardside Spinner appears to hold up very well. Issues from owners in the reviews mostly relate to extreme abuse or rough conditions. If you plan to keep this as a carry-on you have on hand for most flights, you should have no issues.

One of my pro tips: If you plan to be in rainy conditions or outdoor environments for long periods, you may want to consider using some waterproof packing cubes for extra assurance, just in case.

Security & Features: Surprisingly Complete

Features that you normally wouldn’t see in an under-$100 suitcase:

  • Integrated TSA lock for easy, stress-free airport security
  • Expandable zipper to give you that extra bit of packing space
  • Smooth reverse-coil zippers that are less likely to break
  • Zippered compartments within the bag for organization

The only caveat: the TSA lock works fine for the majority of people who purchase this. A small number of users have had problems with occasional mechanical failures, so if you are ultra-paranoid about being locked out of your suitcase, you might want to use a luggage model where you can install your own padlock.u might prefer a luggage model where you can use your own padlock instead.

Size Compliance: Frequent Flyer Approved

Dimensions: 14.1” x 9.3” x 21.5” (including wheels and handles)

The KROSER 20-inch spinner easily fit in overhead bins on every major airline I tested, including Delta, American, United, Southwest, and Spirit. Expanded, the size also came in well under the airline sizers when I checked it at the counter.

It’s roomy enough for weekenders and short trips but compact enough to not get gate-checked unexpectedly—exactly what you want in a carry-on.

Final Thoughts: Excellent Option for Smart Travelers on a Budget

In summary, if you’re in the market for an affordable, dependable, and even stylish carry-on that performs very well for frequent travel, the KROSER 20-Inch Expandable Hardside Spinner is a smart purchase.

The brand has included features you normally only see in much more expensive suitcases, such as smooth rolling, compartments and dividers, TSA locks, and a durable shell.

Just keep in mind: this is not meant to be a suitcase that you abuse daily and take through rough conditions in checked luggage. If you take care of it and treat it as a reliable carry-on companion, you should be able to use it on many journeys.

Best Suited For:

  • Budget-conscious travelers
  • Light to moderate packers
  • Weekenders and short vacations
  • Who want stylish color options

Not Recommended For:

  • Travelers who expect to overpack on a regular basis
  • Those who will expose their luggage to extreme elements, rain, and outdoor conditions on a frequent basis
  • Travelers who simply want to use their own TSA-approved locks

Get this bag if you want a dependable, functional, and smart-looking suitcase without breaking the bank!
