If you’re looking for some cute luggage for your kid’s first big journey—or just a weekend trip to Grandma’s—the Travelers Club 5-Piece Kids Luggage Set is a fun, affordable option to consider. I’ve spent the last few months watching these bags accompany my family members and friends through road trips and family flights, and I have to say I’m impressed with the solid balance of low cost, utility, and of course that special “kid factor” flair we all know children require.
Travelers Club’s 5-piece set includes:
- 18” Hardside carry-on suitcase (spinner wheels included)
- 15” backpack
- 10” insulated lunch bag
- Travel neck pillow
- Luggage tag
The contents of this set are a great starting kit for pint-sized travelers—and believe me, the color choices are fun enough to entice your kids to pack up and go on their own.
Build & Durability
As with any kids product, durability is often the biggest parental concern. The hardside shell of this carry-on suitcase is heavier duty than most at this price point, but not on par with a Samsonite suitcase, for example. You can expect it to withstand the rigors of general travel abuse without much problem—think being shoved under airplane seats, dragged along pavement, or unintentionally tumbled down the steep ramp at your local airport terminal (sorry, it happens to me all the time).
My favorite aspect of this piece is how light-weight it is, though. Even when packed, my three-year-old niece can push and pull this suitcase with the spinner wheels on her own. The polycarbonate outside of the spinner shell wipes clean easily, and both the backpack and lunch bag are made of a heavy-duty-feeling polyester with reinforced zippers and stitching.
Zippers are always a good test of durability, and the ones here are good but not exceptional. Teach younger children not to yank them or over-pack and it should be fine over time, but don’t expect these pieces to last forever if you treat them as major toyboxes.
“She uses a piece of HER luggage set daily. The set is comprised of lightweight material that is sturdy enough if properly cared for and always carried on flights.”
Spinner Wheels & Maneuverability
The suitcase features four wheels with a telescoping handle. All together, it feels much like a smaller version of a grownup suitcase. The wheels glide smoothly over surfaces, and managed well for us even on rougher sidewalks and hotel carpeting.
Smaller children may need some assistance with tight corners or curbs, but it’s generally easy to roll. Toddlers can push it behind them with little difficulty thanks to how lightweight and responsive the wheels are.
“My 2-year-old has no problem lifting it or rolling it around, and it’s super easy for them to zip and unzip.”
Organization & Interior Layout
Organization is another big plus for this set. The 18” hardside carry-on has a large main compartment with several elastic tie-down straps and a zippered divider panel to keep contents from shifting inside. There aren’t a ton of interior mesh pockets or organizational dividers, but there’s enough space to pack several days’ worth of clothing, shoes, and toys.
The 15” backpack is a good size for snacks, crayons, and comfort toys, and also fits well under airplane seats. Strap lengths are adjustable, though not padded, so you’ll want to keep the weight relatively light.
The 10” lunch bag is insulated and stores easily in the suitcase or backpack. The neck pillow is a nice touch for nap time on road trips or red-eye flights, and makes kids a little comfier in their seats. As for the luggage tag, it’s just a nice final touch to make little kids feel like “real” travelers.
Love all the little side pockets… holds all the diapers, meds, clothes, shoes and baby dolls for a few days of visiting.
Style & Color Options
Style is one of the areas where Travelers Club Kids luggage really excels. Designs range from heart-shaped embellishments to race cars, to bunnies, sharks and more. They’re bright and colorful with visual fun patterns, basically everything a child could want in a “very own suitcase.”
We opted for the Bunny designs, and both pieces were just as colorful in real life as they were online. I appreciated the attention to detail in the glitter accents, bold graphics and matching tags, which made the entire set feel cohesive and intentionally put together.
The colorful heart design was her ‘favorite’ thing about the luggage set.
Travel Test: Real World Feedback
Overall, the Travelers Club 5-Piece Set performed better than I expected over several weekend trips and a round-trip flight.
On planes, it fit easily into most overhead bins and even below seat storage (on Southwest and Delta). It rolled easily through airports and checked in with no issue as a carry-on. On car trips, loading/unloading was easy and the kids were thrilled to have their own coordinated bags and accessories.
Note: you will want to be careful overstuffing the lunch bag and neck pillow if you cram too much in the carry-on, though. They will get crunched down a bit if not careful. With a little effort (packing cubes are your friend here), you should be able to fit it all easily enough.
Got two for my boys for their first flight and I have no doubt it’ll fit everything they need.

Final Verdict
Travelers Club’s 5-Piece Kids Luggage Set is a solid option for families that want functional and fun luggage without spending a small fortune. It’s well-made and thoughtfully designed to make travel both enjoyable for kids and more manageable for parents. Zippers and backpack straps could be slightly improved, but overall, the quality, durability and child-friendliness of this set are hard to beat.
Whether it’s their first flight or a weekend with Grandma, this set empowers your little traveler to take the lead—literally—and get excited about their adventure.
If you’re after luggage that’s as adventurous as your child is, I recommend this set to get you started.
