I picked up this Disney Stitch suitcase for my niece before a family vacation, expecting a cute and functional piece. What I didn’t expect? One of the best pieces of luggage from the trip. All around, the Stitch suitcase is well-built, rolls smoothly, and (of course) has a big smile on my niece’s face. This is an officially licensed Disney product that is far more capable than you’d expect from children’s luggage.
So, why does this tiny Stitch spinner roll so high with me (pun intended)? Let’s dig in.
Build & Materials
The overall construction on this suitcase is surprisingly solid for a children’s bag. The hard shell exterior provides some real-world protection from wear and tear. The bag endured a few drops and bumps without issue. The shiny exterior plastic is also sturdier than you might think, with a glossy finish that resists scuffing.
Inside, the organizational layout is par for the course for any adult hardshell suitcase, but on a smaller scale. One side features compression straps for clothes and stuffed animals, and the opposite side features a zippered divider pocket for books, socks, or crayons. The zipper pull tabs and interior fabric also feel more substantial than other bags in this price range.
Essentially, this is a shrunken down version of luggage for adults.
Sizes & Options
The Stitch suitcase comes in three sizes: Small (carry-on), Medium, and Large. I personally tested the Small (carry-on) size in both Navy and Pink. Both bags are very colorful, extremely cute, and instantly recognizable. This smaller size will work fine for a long weekend or overnight school trip.
For anything longer, I would probably upgrade to the medium or large size, which also come with a combination lock for added security. (Nice bonus: no more accidentally locking your child out of their luggage with a TSA lock.)
The suitcase is available for sale as a standalone product, or as part of a 3-piece luggage set, if your little one is in the market for their own “adult” travel set.
Rolling & Handling
You may have noticed I have a love for spinner wheels that glides through airports. This is the piece where I have a new favorite for kids’ luggage: the multi-directional spinner wheels. The Stitch suitcase handles beautifully and the wheels roll with very little effort.
I actually let my niece roll her own bag through the airport for much of the trip, and it held up just fine. Not once did it tip over, drag on the ground, or cause a meltdown.
The telescoping trolley handle adjusts smoothly for kids of all sizes and locks into place securely, even for smaller hands. There’s also a side handle on the opposite end if you need to switch to carrying it like a duffle. It’s lightweight enough for even a four-year-old to handle easily by themselves.
This suitcase also has a really good weight and balance distribution for a kids’ bag. Some other bags feel like they might topple over if you look at them wrong. This one felt well-balanced.
Real-World Feedback
I get that most of us don’t have quite the real world “kid testing” that I get to do. If you want to see how this suitcase holds up past my one family trip, check out a few reviews from other families below:
“This is the perfect size for my daughter’s clothes for our vacation this summer! It rolls smoothly, has zippers that hold up from an 8-year-old playing with it out of excitement!” — Verified Buyer (Apr 2025)
“My daughter loves this! Works great as a carry-on.” — Melissa Trotter (Apr 2025)
“Great value. Both granddaughters compared gifts and Mimi had to make sure they both got one, so now they have the same pattern. Holding up well to a 4-year-old.” — Annette B. (May 2024)
“Perfect for her weekend visits to Granny. Maneuvers with ease and is a great value. She loves Stitch and the pretty colors!” — Joan W. (June 2024)
“Exactly as shown online and is very colorful. Durable so far and my granddaughter loves it.” — Bella88 (Jan 2025)
Pretty solid real world kid testing and approval, if you ask me.
Not Ideal For…
Before I wrap up, I want to give a quick nod to the folks who might not find this bag ideal. This Stitch suitcase is perfect for little ones, but not for:
- Teenagers or older kids who need more sophisticated, grown-up luggage
- Adults who want to buy travel gear for themselves (this is 100% a children’s product)
- Parents who need expandable capacity (the hard shell is sturdy, but not flexible for over-packers)
But for the target audience (around 3–10 years old, perhaps), this is probably about as close to ideal as it gets.

Final Verdict
Looking for a suitcase that makes your kid excited about packing, rolling, and flying—without sacrificing the ability to actually stand up to travel? The Disney Stitch suitcase is a winner.
Far more than just “cute,” this piece is durable, functional, and surprisingly well-made for a children’s suitcase. If you’re prepping for a school trip, weekend at grandma’s, or even your child’s first flight, it’s hard not to recommend this piece to add some Disney magic to the trip.
Highly recommended for kids aged 3-10, especially Disney fans.
